Class Olympics

Class Olympics

Most years the seniors usually win the wonderful D-Week tradition of the different classes competing in a menagerie of events called the Class Olympics. Two thousand twelve was no different.

Each class had a variety of different boys and girls competing in each event. The events included the 8 X 100 relay, the baseball/softball throw, the root beer chug, the tennis volley, three-legged race, soccer shootoutt, car push, football throw, heavy jump rope, bench press, and tug-a-war.

The sophomores came out of the gates on fire leading after the first few event up until the football throw when the seniors took over and were ahead by almost ten points and never looked back. The juniors tried to keep pace finally overtaking the sophomores in the final events.

The crowd of students and teachers were really into cheering for their class to win especially when it came to the root beer chug. “Chug! Chug!” could be heard all around.

On car pushing the crowd got riled up again, making the boys more motivated as they went around the track for each class. Football throw is where the seniors really pushed to get the best score.

Weight lifting, was another one where the crowd got close and really cheered for their classmates.

Great weather, great music and great times made the 2012 Class Olympics a success once again.
